چکیده

A theoretical investigation of the effect gas velocity oscillations on droplet number density and evaporation rate is presented. Oscillations in cause a wave, i.e. an inhomogeneous, unsteady variation concentration. The as it propagates downstream at mean flow speed, causes modulation local rate, creating vapour wave with corresponding equivalence ratio. present work devises analytical formulation these processes. Firstly, response population droplets to modelled terms wave. Secondly, extended incorporate evaporation, such that expression for obtained. Subsequently, 1D convection-diffusion transport equation calculated source term solved using appropriate Green’s function determine resulting ratio perturbations. dynamic fluctuations finally characterized frequency-dependent transfer function. aforementioned approach relies simplifying approximations, nevertheless was validated good agreement against Euler-Lagrange CFD simulations.

Temperature response of turbulent premixed flames to inlet velocity oscillations

Flame–turbulence interactions are at the heart of modern combustion research as they have a major influence on efficiency, stability of operation and pollutant emissions. The problem remains a formidable challenge, and predictive modelling and the implementation of active control measures both rely on further fundamental measurements. Model burners with simple geometry offer an opportunity for ...

Modeling Cryogenic Spray Temperature and Evaporation Rate Based on Single-Droplet Analysis

Cryogenic sprays are of interest in dermatology for cooling human skin during pulsed laser treatment of port wine stain (PWS) birthmarks. In the present study, a Phase Doppler Interferometer (PDI) was used to obtain preliminary measurements of mean diameters and mean velocities of tetrafluoroethane (HFC-134a) spray droplets, generated by an atomizing nozzle of a commercial dermatological instru...

CFD modeling and analysis of brine spray evaporation system

A spraying evaporation system applied to brine disposal is reported, which is mainly used for disposing the brine with concentration more than 100,000 mg/L. A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation has been carried out to study the brine droplet evaporation and diffusion process in high temperature air flow. A discrete-phase model in spraying evaporation system is developed and a simulat...

Effects of mass flow rate and droplet velocity on surface heat flux during cryogen spray cooling.

Cryogen spray cooling (CSC) is used to protect the epidermis during dermatologic laser surgery. To date, the relative influence of the fundamental spray parameters on surface cooling remains incompletely understood. This study explores the effects of mass flow rate and average droplet velocity on the surface heat flux during CSC. It is shown that the effect of mass flow rate on the surface heat...
